Iglesia de San Miguel Arcángel

The iglesia de San Miguel Arcángel is a Baroque temple in San Miguel el Alto with a pink stone facade and two hexagonal towers. The building features a solid structure with substantial proportions that dominates the town's skyline.

Construction began in 1831 under architect Felipe Vallejo, whose vision shaped the building's design. The project extended over many years and faced various obstacles during its completion.

The interior contains paintings by Juan Rodriguez Juarez that reflect religious artistry from the colonial era. These works shape how the space looks and what visitors see when they enter.

The temple is accessible to visitors during daytime hours. It is best to visit in the morning when fewer people are present.

The wooden floor of the interior was installed between 1984 and 1986 and is made of mesquite wood. This durable material covers the entire floor space of the temple.
