The San Miguel Arcangel church features a pink quarry stone facade with twin hexagonal towers and spans 53 meters in length and 41 meters in height.
Construction of the temple commenced in 1831 under architect Felipe Vallejo, who died in 1865 after falling from the nearly completed dome.
The interior holds paintings by Juan Rodriguez Juarez, showcasing the artistry of New Spanish religious art from the colonial period.
The church opens daily from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with additional evening hours from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM for parish activities.
The wooden floor, installed between 1984 and 1986, utilizes mesquite wood throughout the entire temple structure.
