Palace of Iturbide, Art gallery at Madero Street, Mexico City, Mexico
The Palace of Iturbide exhibits New Spanish Baroque architecture across three floors, featuring carved stone facades, geometric patterns, and eighteen arches supported by Tuscan columns.
Built in 1785 as a wedding present for the daughter of Count San Mateo Valparaiso, the palace later became the residence of Agustin de Iturbide, first Emperor of Mexico.
The Banamex Cultural Foundation maintains this gallery space, organizing temporary exhibitions that showcase both contemporary and historical Mexican artworks throughout the year.
Located in Mexico City's historic center, the gallery offers art workshops for adults and children, with multiple public transportation options available nearby.
The building's facade incorporates distinctive organic motifs, including carved flowers and double-tailed mermaids, representing a fusion of European and indigenous architectural elements.
