Palacio de Correos de Mexico, Historic post office building in Mexico City, Mexico
The Palacio de Correos de Mexico features stone facades with intricate carvings, marble staircases, and bronze decorations across its four levels.
The construction of this postal palace began in 1902 under President Porfirio Diaz and opened its doors to the public in February 1907.
The building combines Renaissance Revival, Moorish Revival, Art Deco, Art Nouveau, and Isabelline architectural elements designed by Italian architect Adamo Boari.
The building continues to function as Mexico City's central post office while also housing the Naval History and Culture Museum on its top floor.
The main tower contains a German-made clock mechanism that combines winding systems with electric devices, hydraulic transmissions, and a carillon of six bells.
