Garden of the Triple Alliance, Historical monument in Centro Histórico, Mexico City, Mexico.
The Garden of the Triple Alliance is a monument in Mexico City's historic center featuring three large bronze reliefs. These works were created by sculptor Jesús F. Contreras and display important rulers in detailed artistic forms.
The work was created for Mexico's display at the 1889 World's Fair and depicts rulers from the Aztec Empire of the 15th century. The reliefs were later placed in this historic district and have remained there as a lasting artistic creation.
The three bronze reliefs show rulers from the Aztec civilization that visitors can see displayed in the public space. These representations reflect how the city honors important historical figures from its past.
The monument is located at the intersection of Filomeno Mata and Tacuba streets near the Army Museum. Visitors can easily explore the site on foot and find nearby locations for additional sightseeing in the area.
A fourth relief by the same artist depicting another Aztec ruler is housed inside the Army Museum just steps away. Copies of all four reliefs were later installed on the Monument to La Raza and can also be seen there.
