Baron Bliss Light

The Baron Bliss lighthouse is a white concrete tower with red stripes that rises on the Fort George peninsula overlooking the harbor. The tower features an observation platform that offers views out toward the sea and across the city below.

The lighthouse was built in 1924 to honor Baron Bliss, a British benefactor who gave generously to Belize before his death in 1926. The monument was placed at a prominent location in the city to reflect the lasting connection between his legacy and the country.
