Heritage Plaza, Modern skyscraper in downtown Houston, United States.
Heritage Plaza is a 232-meter office tower with 53 floors located in downtown Houston. The building features granite walls with clean, modern lines and connects to an adjacent hotel through an elevated pedestrian bridge.
Construction took place between 1984 and 1987, making it the final major office building completed downtown before a long pause in development. This project concluded a significant phase of growth for the area.
The tower references architectural traditions from south of the border, blending this influence into its overall aesthetic language. You can see how these references appear in the decorative elements throughout the building.
The building sits in a central location with straightforward street access, making it easy to find. Visitors should note the multiple entrances and internal layout, as different areas may be accessible to the public on certain occasions.
The lobby contains a multi-level marble waterfall inspired by traditional design elements from Mexico. Many visitors overlook this feature, though it provides a surprisingly calm space in the middle of the busy downtown area.
