The museum spans 166,000 square feet with modern architecture featuring glass-walled studios, interactive exhibits, and educational spaces devoted to science and regional history.
Founded in 1945 as the Fort Worth Children's Museum, the institution moved to its current location in 1954 and received its present name in 1968.
The museum houses the Cattle Raisers Museum section, which presents the development of the cattle industry and its influence on Texas heritage.
The facility opens Tuesday through Saturday from 10 AM to 5 PM and Sunday from noon to 5 PM, with DinoLabs, Innovation Studios, and the Noble Planetarium.
The Heritage Courtyard preserves an original tree from the previous building, around which architects designed the new museum structure in 2009.
