Glen Rose

Glen Rose is the county seat of Somervell County, Texas, positioned where U.S. Highway 67 and State Highway 144 meet. The town sits in a landscape shaped by the Paluxy River, which flows through the surrounding terrain.

The town started in 1849 as a small trading settlement and grew into importance when it became the county seat in 1875. This change transformed it from an isolated outpost into a regional administrative center.
