777 Main Street is a 40-story glass and steel office tower that rises 525 feet into the Fort Worth skyline. The building occupies an entire block between Commerce Street, East 7th Street, Main Street, and Northeast 6th Street, with approximately 23,000 square feet of space on each floor.
The building was constructed starting in 1980 on the site of the former Aviation Building and completed in 1982 under the name Continental Plaza. It represents a period when Fort Worth modernized its economic infrastructure and repositioned itself as a business center.
The building shapes Fort Worth's business district and shows how the city developed into a major commercial center. Visitors see here the modern face of a city that steadily built up its economic importance.
The office tower includes 24 elevators, making traffic flow manageable even in the upper floors. Its central location makes it easy to reach for visitors exploring the business district or seeking views from above.
The building was hit by an F3 tornado in 2000 that destroyed about 1,300 windows, requiring major repairs. This restoration was completed in 2001 and made it a notable example of structural resilience.
