Burnett Plaza, Brutalist skyscraper in Fort Worth, United States
Burnett Plaza is a brutalist concrete office tower in downtown Fort Worth, Texas, standing 567 feet (about 173 m) tall across 40 floors. The upper floors hold office space, while the basement level contains shops and dining options.
The tower was completed in 1983, replacing the Medical Arts Building, an 18-story structure that previously stood on the same site. Its construction was part of a broader effort to redevelop downtown Fort Worth during the 1980s.
Near the entrance stands a sculpture titled "Man With a Briefcase" by Jonathan Borofsky, depicting a large figure carrying a briefcase. It has become a familiar sight for people passing through downtown, and many stop to photograph it.
The tower is easy to spot from anywhere in downtown Fort Worth and can be reached on foot from most nearby streets. Entrances at street level give access to the building, and elevators connect all floors including the basement.
TV stations KDFW-TV and WFAA-TV have cameras mounted on the roof that capture live footage of Fort Worth for daily news broadcasts. This makes the tower a largely invisible but regular part of how local viewers see their city on screen.
