Burnett Plaza, Brutalist skyscraper in Fort Worth, United States
Burnett Plaza is a concrete tower with 40 floors rising 172.9 meters (567 feet) in downtown Fort Worth, featuring commercial office space and retail areas. The basement level houses multiple dining options and shops, while the upper floors contain modern office facilities.
The building was completed in 1983, replacing the Medical Arts Building, an 18-story structure that previously occupied the site. Its construction marked a major redevelopment effort in downtown Fort Worth during the 1980s.
Near the entrance stands a 50-foot sculpture titled Man With a Briefcase by Jonathan Borofsky, which has become a familiar sight for people passing through downtown. The work serves as a gathering point and photo spot that many locals and visitors pause to notice.
The building is clearly visible from street level with marked entrances for pedestrians and vehicles. Visitors can easily access the dining area via basement entrances, and elevators serve all upper floors.
Television stations KDFW-TV and WFAA-TV have cameras mounted on the roof to capture live views of Fort Worth during news broadcasts. This setup makes the building an integral part of the city's daily news coverage.
