Ernest Hawkins Field at Memorial Stadium is an American football and track and field venue in Commerce, Texas, with grandstands on the west and east sides. The east stands were replaced in 2010, bringing capacity to 11,582, and a Daktronics video board was installed the same year. The field has had FieldTurf since 2006, and the press box carries the message HOME OF THE LIONS.

Planning for the stadium began in 1945 when the Ex-Students Association launched a fundraising effort matched by state support. The facility opened in 1950 as a new home for university athletics.

The stadium was built to honor 78 East Texas A&M alumni and students who died in World War II, and its dedication on September 23, 1950 drew U.S. Speaker of the House Sam Rayburn, a university alumnus, and former lieutenant governor Walter Woodul. General Douglas MacArthur, unable to attend, wrote to President James Gee that he was honored to have his quotation on the plaque to the fallen Lions.

Entry follows strict policies at the gate, including restrictions on outside items and re-entry procedures. It is best to plan your visit ahead and review current rules before attending an event.

In 2013 the turf was replaced with a Lion head 50 yards long and 50 yards wide, which the Guinness Book of World Records considered possibly the largest on-site logo in the world. The university replaced the turf again in 2019 and returned to a smaller, traditional-sized logo.
