Judge Perez Bridge

The Judge Perez Bridge is a vertical-lift bridge spanning the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway, carrying two northbound lanes on Louisiana Highway 23. It connects Belle Chasse with Terrytown and allows boats to pass underneath when the structure opens.

The bridge was constructed in 1967 and opened to traffic in 1968 to meet growing transportation needs in Plaquemines Parish. Construction was funded through local port and road revenue sources.
