Baton Rouge City Club, Private dining club in Downtown Baton Rouge, United States
The Baton Rouge City Club occupies a three-story Renaissance Revival building at North Boulevard with extensive terra cotta ornamentation and Italian architectural details. Inside, it features 14 meeting rooms, a private ballroom with a veranda accommodating up to 250 guests, and third-floor dining areas with bar and boardroom facilities.
The building was constructed in 1895 as a U.S. Post Office and federal courthouse, serving government functions for more than 60 years. In 1957 it transitioned to private club ownership, a role it maintains today.
The club serves as a meeting place where business professionals and community members gather for social and professional events. The spaces host dinners, receptions, and networking occasions that bring together people from different sectors.
The club is accessible to members and their guests with diverse spaces available for different types of events. When planning a visit, be aware that the building is carefully maintained due to its historic status and features multiple staircases throughout its levels.
The building displays one of the most elaborate examples of Renaissance Revival architecture from the turn of the 20th century found anywhere in Louisiana. The detailed terra cotta craftsmanship and Italian styling are rarely seen elsewhere in the state.
