The Old Warren County Courthouse stands on a high hill with four porticos supported by 30-foot Ionic columns and an ornate iron stairway.
Built in 1858 by slave artisans for $100,000, the courthouse served as a Confederate observation point during the Civil War until its capture in 1863.
The museum displays Civil War memorabilia, including Confederate flags, Jefferson Davis's inauguration tie, antebellum clothing, and Native American artifacts.
The museum welcomes visitors Monday through Saturday from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with admission prices ranging from 4 to 7 dollars.
The American Institute of Architects selected this Greek Revival structure as one of the 20 most outstanding courthouses in the United States.
