Asa Johnston Farmhouse, Historic farmhouse in Johnsonville, Alabama.

The farmhouse extends across seven bays with a central open breezeway, featuring a front facade framed by symmetrical doors and windows.

Built in 1842 by Connecticut craftsman Ezra Plumb, the farmhouse belonged to Asa Johnston, who owned 3,450 acres and managed substantial agricultural operations.

The interior design incorporates vernacular Greek Revival elements throughout the structure, representing the architectural preferences of wealthy Southern landowners in the 1840s.

The property maintains its original layout with a central breezeway, front Carolina porch, and a separate dining room connected by an elevated covered walkway.

The central breezeway contains the only documented barrel vaulted ceiling found in any Alabama residential structure of this period.
