The National Aquarium holds 2,700 marine animals from 350 species across multiple exhibits, including coral reefs, mangroves, and marine grottos.
Founded in 1960, the facility underwent major reconstruction in 2000 after a hurricane destroyed the original dolphin stadium in 1998.
The aquarium serves as an educational center where Cuban families and school groups learn about marine conservation through interactive programs.
The facility opens Tuesday through Sunday from 10 AM to 6 PM in winter and until 10 PM in summer, with dolphin shows at 11 AM, 3 PM, and 5 PM.
The Gran Azul Restaurant features a large Plexiglas wall where diners can observe dolphins swimming while eating their meals.
