Hotel Saratoga, Havana, Construction site in La Habana Vieja, Cuba
Hotel Saratoga is a structure in Havana's Old Town whose reconstruction merges modern building techniques with the original neoclassical design. The project at Prado 603 will become a complex with 96 rooms, restaurants, bars, a business center, and a spa.
The original Hotel Saratoga featured French windows, mahogany shutters, and wrought iron balconies typical of Cuban colonial architecture. This style defined the building during its period as a social center in the city.
The Anacaona restaurant honors a female Cuban orchestra that performed regularly here during the mid-twentieth century. The name recalls a time when this venue was a hub for music and social gatherings.
The hotel sits at a central location in the Old Town, making it easy to reach other historic landmarks nearby. The position offers good sight lines to important city features, which helps with getting oriented and exploring.
From the roof terrace, you can see directly to the Capitol, the Partagás cigar factory, and several other notable places in Old Havana. This elevated vantage point gives visitors a rare view of the city's historic landmarks.

Havana offers several rooftop bars that allow observation of the city from elevated viewpoints. These venues are housed in various buildings: historic hotels like Ambos Mundos, where Hemingway stayed, restored colonial houses such as La Guarida, or the former industrial site El Cocinero. From the top of the Packard hotel, views extend over the Florida Strait and Spanish fortifications, while Malecon663 faces directly onto the Gulf of Mexico. These terraces offer local rums, tropical cocktails, and Cuban cuisine within architectural settings representative of the capital. Some establishments like the Kempinski Grand Hotel Manzana have pools, while others like Jesus Maria 20 occupy colonial houses with views over the old town’s rooftops. The route allows discovering different neighborhoods of Havana from elevated perspectives, combining local gastronomy with architectural patrimony observation.
