Hotel Inglaterra, Historic hotel in Central Havana, Cuba.
This four-story establishment features a neoclassical facade with stained-glass windows, colorful mosaics, and Sevillian ironwork, along with a rooftop terrace offering views of the surrounding cityscape and nearby landmarks.
Officially opened on December 23, 1875, the hotel stands as the oldest continuously operating accommodation in Cuba, having hosted notable guests including Winston Churchill, Enrico Caruso, and Federico García Lorca throughout its more than 145 years of service.
The building has served as a social gathering place for artists, musicians, and politicians since the late 19th century, contributing significantly to Havana's cultural life and earning its designation as a National Monument in 1981.
Located on Paseo del Prado, the hotel offers 83 simply furnished rooms, several dining options including a rooftop grill, a lobby bar, and easy access to Central Park, the National Capitol, and the Alicia Alonso Grand Theater within walking distance.
The interior combines marble floors, antique chandeliers, and colonial artifacts with restaurant artwork donated by Cuban artists, creating a distinctive atmosphere that blends European architectural influences with local artistic traditions and historic character.

Havana offers several rooftop bars that allow observation of the city from elevated viewpoints. These venues are housed in various buildings: historic hotels like Ambos Mundos, where Hemingway stayed, restored colonial houses such as La Guarida, or the former industrial site El Cocinero. From the top of the Packard hotel, views extend over the Florida Strait and Spanish fortifications, while Malecon663 faces directly onto the Gulf of Mexico. These terraces offer local rums, tropical cocktails, and Cuban cuisine within architectural settings representative of the capital. Some establishments like the Kempinski Grand Hotel Manzana have pools, while others like Jesus Maria 20 occupy colonial houses with views over the old town’s rooftops. The route allows discovering different neighborhoods of Havana from elevated perspectives, combining local gastronomy with architectural patrimony observation.
