Casarão do Anastácio

The Casarão do Anastácio is a heritage-protected commercial building in Pirituba that extends across approximately 1,500 square meters (16,000 sq ft). Its design merges Spanish architectural elements with wooden details and solid masonry throughout the structure.

The property was built in 1920 as a Club House for Armour Company workers and stood on land once owned by Colonel Anastácio de Freitas Troconzo. It gained official heritage protection status in 2013 after decades of abandonment.

The building displays Spanish Mission architecture with deep verandas and represents a rare architectural style in São Paulo. You can see how European construction methods were adapted to local Brazilian building practices.

The site is most easily reached by subway and sits in a well-established residential area of Pirituba with good road connections. The best time to visit is during daylight hours when the building's exterior is clearly visible and the neighborhood is active.

The building served for many years as a gathering place for workers of a local refrigeration company before closing in the 1960s. This worker community history is often overlooked compared to its architectural significance.
