Big Splash

Big Splash is a water park in Macquarie featuring multiple slides and swimming areas for different age groups. The facility includes a large pool along with smaller basins and dedicated zones designed for younger children.

The site opened in 1969 as a public swimming facility with basic amenities. During the 1990s it was converted into a privately operated amusement park and later expanded with new attractions.

The water park serves as a popular summer meeting point for families across Canberra during the warmer months. Visitors can try different water activities and children learn to swim with guidance from instructors.

The park is open from November through March when the weather turns warm. Visitors should arrive early to enjoy the slides and pools without extended wait times.

Two popular attractions from the Wet'n'Wild park on the Gold Coast were integrated into the facility in 2013. This brought well-known rides and water games to Canberra that were otherwise unavailable in the region.
