National Zoo & Aquarium

The 19-hectare facility houses over 200 species of animals, including the largest collection of big cats and marine life in Australia.

Opening as the National Aquarium in 1990, the facility expanded into a combined zoo in 1992 when businessman Rod Hanstein acquired the property.

The facility provides wheelchair accessible pathways throughout the exhibits, enabling all visitors to observe both terrestrial and aquatic species comfortably.

The facility maintains a 1.5 million liter aquarium with an underwater tunnel, allowing visitors to walk beneath swimming marine creatures.
