Lovett Tower, Modern office tower in Woden Town Centre, Australia.
Lovett Tower is a modern office building in Woden Town Centre standing 93 meters (305 feet) tall across 26 floors. Its white facade features concrete panel sunshades for climate control, while separate lift foyers inside organize office circulation efficiently, with retail spaces on the lower levels.
The tower opened in 1974 as the tallest structure in Canberra at that time. It held this distinction until the High Society development was completed in 2020.
The name honors the Lovett family's contributions to Australian society since 2000. This structure has become a familiar landmark in the Woden district, helping people find their way around the town center.
The tower serves as a clear visual landmark for navigating Woden Town Centre. The retail areas on lower levels are accessible to the public, making it easy for visitors to explore the building without office access.
The architectural design came from a competition won by Jon Mitchell & Associates, with construction handled by Civil & Civic. This collaboration between architect and builder created a structure that stands apart from other buildings in Canberra.
