Mount Morgan is an administrative region in Queensland, located about 39 kilometers south-southwest of Rockhampton along the Dee River. The Burnett Highway connects it to nearby communities, and the area offers basic services including a public library and recreation facilities.
The settlement began in 1882 as a gold mining town and gradually became an important administrative center. Mining operations extracted 250 tonnes of gold and 360,000 tonnes of copper from the area until 1990.
