Koke'e State Park

Native Hawaiians utilized the upland forests of Koke'e State Park for generations, collecting forest resources and maintaining traditional navigation practices across the region.

The park houses numerous endemic Hawaiian plant species, including the ohia lehua trees, which hold deep significance in Hawaiian mythology and environmental practices.

Visitors can access camping facilities with advance permits, while entry fees cost $5 per person for non-residents and remain free for Hawaii residents.

The Alakai Swamp Trail traverses through the highest elevation wetland in the world, featuring wooden boardwalks across an ancient bog environment.
