Coral Gables Merrick House

The limestone structure at 907 Coral Way features fourteen rooms, a wraparound porch, and stands within gardens containing a grotto and lily pond.

Built in 1906 under Althea Merrick's design, the house incorporated an existing wooden cottage and utilized limestone rocks from what later became the Venetian Pool.

The residence represents early 20th-century Florida architecture and stands as the childhood home of George Merrick, who founded the city of Coral Gables.

The house opens for guided tours on weekends at 1, 2, and 3 PM, with adult admission at $5 and discounted rates for seniors, military, and students.

The property includes a heritage garden and a historic grotto inhabited by ten different species of fish within its 1.3-acre grounds.
