Venetian Pool, Historical swimming center in Coral Gables, United States.
The Venetian Pool contains caves, waterfalls, and stone bridges across its 4-acre grounds filled with 820,000 gallons of spring water from artesian wells.
Created from a coral rock quarry in 1924, architect Phineas Paist transformed this space into a Mediterranean-style swimming facility during Coral Gables' initial development.
The Miami Symphony Orchestra performed concerts at the bottom of the empty pool, including a special performance for Coral Gables' 75th anniversary in 2001.
The pool operates Tuesday through Sunday with different hours per season, offering separate admission rates for residents and non-residents of Coral Gables.
The facility renews its entire water volume daily through artesian wells, implementing a system that returns water to the aquifer through natural ground filtration.
