Revere Quality Institute House

The Revere Quality Institute House is a modern residence in Sarasota featuring reinforced concrete walls, expansive glass surfaces, and bold horizontal lines throughout its design. The structure showcases open floor plans and seamless connections between interior and exterior spaces.

The residence was built in 1948 through a partnership between architects Paul Rudolph and Ralph Twitchell. It was later designated as a National Register of Historic Places landmark in Florida.

This house represents the Sarasota School of Architecture, a movement that adapted modernist design to Florida's subtropical climate through creative solutions. Visitors can see how the architects balanced open spaces with practical responses to heat and humidity.

The house is located on Siesta Key and features natural ventilation systems with deep overhangs designed for Florida's intense sun and humid conditions. Plan your visit for early morning or late afternoon when the location is more comfortable to explore.

During its opening year, the experimental house attracted more than 16000 visitors who came to tour the property. It was originally planned as one of eight similar residences to be built across the country.
