Roth Cigar Factory, Historic cigar factory in downtown Sarasota, United States.
The Roth Cigar Factory is a two-story building designed in the Mission and Spanish Revival style with distinctive architectural features throughout its facade. Thomas Reed Martin created the design in 1922, incorporating characteristic elements of the style including arched openings and decorative detailing.
Brothers Edward and Michael Roth established this manufacturing operation, which ran from 1923 to 1938 producing cigars. The products were sold through their retail store located on Main Street.
The factory reflects how immigrant workers shaped Florida's tobacco industry, bringing skilled cigar-making traditions that shaped the region's economy and daily life.
The building is situated in downtown Sarasota and is easily accessible on foot for viewing the exterior architecture. It remains a publicly visible landmark that can be appreciated from the street.
The structure earned recognition on March 22, 1984, as part of the Sarasota Multiple Resource Area for preserving regional manufacturing history.
