The Sarasota County Courthouse features Spanish Mediterranean Revival architecture with stucco exterior walls, red clay tile roofing, arched windows, and ornamental details designed by architect Dwight James Baum.
Built between 1926 and 1927 by Stevenson and Cameron Inc. on land donated by Charles and Edith Ringling, the courthouse was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
