Harborwalk

The Harborwalk is a paved trail that runs along Charlotte Harbor connecting multiple parks through continuous waterfront paths. The route keeps views of the water in sight throughout most of the walk.

In 1883, a local figure purchased waterfront land and established the town's initial layout, creating the foundation for what would become this region. This early settlement pattern eventually led to the creation of the modern waterfront trail system.

The trail passes by several memorials that reflect the area's connection to military history and early exploration, creating spaces where visitors pause and remember. These monuments line the waterfront and become natural gathering points for reflection during a walk.

The trail is easily accessible during daylight with restroom facilities and parking available at different spots along the route. Walking during the day is recommended since lighting is limited after dark.

Decorative compass rose designs are embedded into the sidewalk at street crossings to help guide walkers through the trail. These floor markings add a visual element that makes navigation feel like part of the walking experience itself.
