Mote-Morris House, Historic residence in Leesburg, Florida.

The Mote-Morris House is a four-story residence with a distinctive turret located in Leesburg that was built in the late 1800s. The building combines various architectural styles and demonstrates construction techniques typical of that period.

Edward H. Mote built the residence in 1892 as his private home while serving as the city's mayor. The house represents the growth and prosperity of Leesburg during that period.

The house reflects how wealthy families in Florida lived during the 1890s and what they valued in their homes. The rooms and elaborate exterior details show the tastes and lifestyle of that era.

The house is located on West Magnolia Street and can be viewed from the street, with the facade and architecture clearly visible from outside. Those who wish to see the interior should check in advance about available visiting times.

The building was physically relocated in 1990 from its original location to a new position on the block. This rare feat demonstrates how a large stone house could be moved without demolition.
