The Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Historic State Park features a preserved farmhouse, citrus grove, and outbuildings surrounded by natural Florida landscapes.
The property transformed from a 75-acre orange grove purchased in 1929 into the residence where Rawlings wrote her Pulitzer Prize-winning novel The Yearling.
The farmhouse interior maintains its 1930s rural Florida character with period furniture, a typewriter, and kitchen items from Rawlings' time as a writer.
Guided tours of the house interior operate Thursday through Sunday between 10 AM and 4 PM, with an entrance fee of three dollars per vehicle.
The farmyard contains the original barn where Rawlings kept a pet deer during her research for The Yearling novel in the late 1930s.
