Coconut Creek

Coconut Creek is a community in Broward County, Florida, with neighborhoods, parks, and shopping areas spread across low-lying terrain. The area sits close to the Atlantic coast and features wide streets lined with lawns and palm trees.

The municipality was officially founded in 1967 after residents sought their own local government. Over the following decades, the settlement grew as families moved in from other parts of the United States.

A large butterfly garden in a nearby park houses thousands of live butterflies from around the world inside climate-controlled greenhouses. Visitors can watch the insects up close as they fly among colorful flowers.
