The Winter Park Public Library is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit lending library in Winter Park, Florida. It began in 1885 in the Lamson house at 503 Interlachen Avenue, opened daily from April 1902 in a building on land donated by the estate of Francis Knowles, and doubled in size in 1924 with two new wings and a restroom.

The library was founded in 1885 by nine local women following the arrival of the South Florida Railroad and the founding of Rollins College. This establishment marked the beginning of an important community institution in the growing town.

The library's founders were nine women, and all elective offices of the circulating library were held by women at a time when voting was restricted to men. Early records show members could borrow one book on Wednesdays and Saturdays, keep it two weeks, and pay a 10-cent fine for late renewal.

The library opened daily from its 1902 building onward, and its early rules limited members to one book at a time, borrowed on Wednesdays and Saturdays for two weeks with a one-week renewal. Non-members paid a $1 deposit plus 10 cents weekly. The 1924 expansion added two wings and a restroom; the 1915 kitchen wing came after the town council granted free electricity in 1914.

The facility houses The New Leaf Bookstore, a book shop that generates funds for library programs and the acquisition of new materials. This bookstore represents one way the library sustains and expands its services through community support.
