The Kia Center is an indoor arena located in downtown Orlando with seating for roughly 18,800 spectators distributed across several tiers and equipped with electronic scoreboards along the walls. The facility features wide concourses, concession stands on each level, and a roof fitted with a lighting system that adapts to different events throughout the year.
The facility opened in October 2010 and replaced the former Amway Arena, which stood further north in the neighborhood. The design firm Populous drew up the plans for the new building, which was completed in roughly two years and has since served as a central venue for sporting and cultural events in the city.
The venue was named after a South Korean automotive brand and serves as home court for the local basketball team, hosting games throughout the season alongside concerts by touring musicians. Fans wearing blue and white team colors fill the stands during home matches, creating a shared experience that brings together families and supporters from across the region.
Visitors can reach the facility by walking from Church Street Station or LYNX Central Station, both located a short distance away. Parking garages are available within the immediate surroundings, offering drivers several options for finding a spot nearby.
Over 1,100 screens are distributed throughout the building, allowing visitors to follow game action and replays from nearly any concourse or level. A large video display measuring roughly 46 by 54 feet (14 by 16 meters) is mounted on the exterior facade, visible to passersby on the street below.
