Lincoln Plaza at SunTrust Center, High Rise Building
Lincoln Plaza at SunTrust Center is a 16-story high-rise office building in downtown Orlando designed in postmodern architecture with clean lines and geometric shapes. The structure covers about 22,900 square meters and houses primarily financial services firms and law offices.
The building was constructed between April 1999 and 2000 as Orlando modernized its economy and expanded its downtown. It was among the first modern high-rises that contributed to reshaping the business district during this growth period.
The SunTrust name comes from the financial institution that originally gave the complex its identity. The building serves as a visual landmark that helps people navigate downtown and understand the city's business district.
The building is located at 300 South Orange Avenue downtown and is easily accessible on foot, by car, or public transit. About 625 parking spaces are available, and the surrounding area offers restaurants, cafes, and additional shops to visit.
During construction, a tragic accident occurred when a large piece of lumber fell from the eighth floor, killing a construction worker. This event serves as a reminder of the serious risks involved in major building projects.
