Flagler Beach

Flagler Beach is a coastal city in Northeast Florida with a six-mile shoreline along the Atlantic Ocean. Natural sand dunes and a wooden fishing pier define the waterfront.

The city was founded in 1925 and named after Henry Flagler, a railroad developer who shaped East Florida's infrastructure. His development projects made settlement of this coastal area possible.

Multiple public beach access points, parking areas, and restrooms are available along State Road A1A. Visitors should arrive early on warm days, as popular access points fill up quickly.

Every New Year's Eve, residents gather for a ceremony where a surfboard is dropped instead of a traditional ball. This tradition merges the community's love of the ocean with the New Year celebration.
