Lee County, Administrative division in Alabama, United States

Lee County stretches across 255 square miles in the eastern part of Alabama, featuring a mix of urban developments and agricultural landscapes along the Chattahoochee River.

The territory received its administrative status in 1866, named after Confederate General Robert E. Lee during the post-Civil War reconstruction period in Alabama.

The county maintains multiple public libraries, educational centers, and community spaces that serve its population of more than 60,000 residents through various programs.

The Lee County Administration Building in Opelika provides residents with essential services, including property tax assessments, vehicle registration, and building permits.

The county hosts the annual Lee County Fair in October, bringing together local farmers, artisans, and performers for a celebration of regional agriculture.
