Southeastern Quilt & Textile Museum

The Southeastern Quilt & Textile Museum is housed in a restored cotton warehouse and features three exhibition galleries displaying quilts and textile art. The building itself reflects the industrial heritage of the area while the galleries rotate displays that cover different aspects of fiber arts and making.

The museum was created to preserve and celebrate the long history of textile production in the region. Its founding grew out of efforts by quilters and fiber artists to document their craft and ensure it remained visible to future generations.

The exhibitions showcase the work of regional makers and artisans, passing down traditional techniques while exploring how contemporary artists push the craft forward. Visitors can witness the connections between these artistic practices and everyday life in the Southeast.

The museum is located on Bradley Street and is easy to find within the downtown area. Plan to spend a couple of hours exploring the galleries at a comfortable pace to fully take in the textile displays.
