Liberty Plaza spans 2.2 acres with an 8,000-square-foot grass lawn and accommodates over 3,000 people for public gatherings and events.
The initial concept emerged in 1910 when architect Haralson Bleckley proposed a tree-lined boulevard leading to the Georgia State Capitol.
The plaza features model reproductions of the Liberty Bell, Statue of Liberty, and state flags, representing American democratic values.
Located at 218 Capitol Avenue Southwest, the plaza connects to multiple MARTA stations and provides access to downtown Atlanta attractions.
A statue of Martin Luther King Jr stands in the plaza, installed on August 28, 2017, marking the anniversary of his Dream speech.
