Christ Church features a white wooden structure with Gothic Revival details, including pointed arches and stained glass windows facing a cemetery with ancient oak trees.
The original church, established in 1736 under James Oglethorpe's leadership, was destroyed during the Civil War and reconstructed in 1884 through Anson Dodge's efforts.
The church represents one of the founding parishes of the Episcopal Diocese of Georgia in 1823, alongside institutions in Savannah and Augusta.
The building accommodates over 1000 members with multiple Sunday services due to limited seating, while visitors can explore the historic cemetery dating to 1803.
A beehive discovered in the church steeple in 1840 provided honey sales that funded necessary repairs to the building structure.
