Brooks Stadium, Football stadium in Conway, United States
Brooks Stadium is an American football venue with 21000 seats at Coastal Carolina University, featuring teal artificial turf and contemporary athletic facilities. The Marrio and Josh Norman Fieldhouse sits adjacent to the playing surface and houses training spaces along with strength conditioning areas.
The venue opened on September 6, 2003, with a game between Coastal Carolina and Newberry College attended by more than 8000 people. An expansion costing 31.8 million dollars brought capacity from 6408 to 20000 seats to meet NCAA Division I requirements.
The field received its name through a $2 million donation from businessman Bob Brooks, chairman of Hooters of America, to honor his children Coby and Boni.
Visitors reach the venue through the university campus in Conway and can find parking near the facility. Most events take place during fall when the university teams play their home games throughout the football season.
Businessman Bob Brooks donated 2 million dollars to give the venue the name of his children Coby and Boni. The teal playing surface stands apart from the traditional green turf found in most other university stadiums.
