Freestyle Music Park, Music theme park in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, US.
Freestyle Music Park was an amusement park in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, located along the Intracoastal Waterway near the US 501 intersection. The grounds held five roller coasters and several other attractions across roughly 55 acres (22 hectares).
The site first opened in April 2008 as Hard Rock Park, after a local businessman bought a small theater there and developed the full project. After just one season it closed, reopened briefly in 2009 under the new name, and then shut down permanently.
The park featured six different zones dedicated to musical genres, with performances from bands like Eagles and The Moody Blues during its opening season.
The entrance fee and operating costs exceeded market expectations, resulting in only 370,000 visitors during its first season instead of projected numbers.
During its short first season the site drew fewer than 370,000 visitors, although operators had originally expected much higher numbers. After permanent closure some rides were sold to parks in Vietnam.
