Savannah's Playground, Inclusive playground in The Market Common, Myrtle Beach, United States.
Savannah's Playground is a public recreation facility in The Market Common in Myrtle Beach with multiple zones for different age groups. The site features musical instruments, climbing ropes, slides, and water play features that can be used year-round.
The facility opened in 2016 as a result of a public-private partnership with a total budget around 2 million dollars. It was named after Savannah Thompson, a figure significant to the project.
The playground was designed so children with different abilities can play together in shared spaces. Equipment and facilities take different physical needs into account, allowing all children to access and enjoy the various play areas.
The site is located behind Crabtree Memorial Gymnasium and is easy to reach. It offers handicap-accessible restrooms, drinking fountains, and bottle-refilling stations that are regularly maintained.
A special section called the Harmony Musical Park features interactive sound instruments where children can experiment. As they play, they develop motor skills and learn to interact with one another.
