Opening in fall 2016, this $2 million public-private partnership project was named after Savannah Thompson and initiated by former Myrtle Beach Mayor John Rhodes.
The playground prioritizes accessibility by incorporating equipment and facilities that enable children of all physical abilities to participate in recreational activities together.
Located behind Crabtree Memorial Gymnasium, the facility provides handicap-accessible restrooms, water fountains, bottle-refilling stations, and maintains regular Tuesday maintenance.
The Harmony Musical Park section contains interactive sound instruments where children experiment with music while developing motor and social skills.
