Hearst Ranch

George Hearst acquired land in Rancho Piedra Blanca in the late 1800s and established one of California's largest cattle operations. His legacy continues today through private management and ongoing cattle ranching in the region.

The ranch carries the Circle C brand, California's oldest continuously used cattle brand. Visitors can connect with this heritage through the grass-fed beef products still sold under this name today.

The ranch's beef products are available year-round at Whole Foods Market locations throughout the region. Visitors can purchase locally raised beef without needing to visit the property itself.

The property operates a private airstrip that was originally built in 1928 and relocated twice since then. This airport is a rare feature for a California ranch and reflects the historical importance of the operation.
