Francisco Park, Urban park in Russian Hill, San Francisco, United States.
Francisco Park is an urban park in Russian Hill that sits on hillside terrain with walking paths and planted areas throughout. Views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Ghirardelli Square, and Alcatraz appear from different spots across the grounds.
A water reservoir was built here in 1859 as San Francisco grew rapidly. This structure sat unused after 1940 until it was later converted into this green space.
The Francisco Park Conservancy, a volunteer organization, collected 27.5 million dollars from community donations to establish this green space in 2022.
The park has a children's playground, a fenced dog area, and a community garden on the grounds. Public restrooms and picnic tables available for reservation are also located here.
The park collects rainwater to supply its own maintenance in a sustainable way. This approach reduces reliance on the city's water system.
