Grace Episcopal Church, historic church building in Boulder Creek, Santa Cruz County, California
Grace Episcopal Church is an early 1900s church building in Boulder Creek that now functions as the main gallery for the San Lorenzo Valley Museum. The structure displays late Gothic Revival features including tall pointed windows and is constructed from local redwood timber.
The building was completed in 1906 and originally served the local faith community. After 1915 it went through several uses until the Boulder Creek Historical Society purchased it in 1995 and converted it into a museum.
The church reflects the religious life of the community. Different congregations used these buildings over time, and they hold the memory of the varied faith traditions that shaped Boulder Creek.
The museum is open Wednesday through Sunday afternoons with free admission. Visitors can explore the exhibits in a quiet setting with accessible pathways and a maintained outdoor area.
The building was constructed by two local residents and served as a church for only a brief period before being repurposed for other uses. This history shows how a single structure has played different roles in the community across decades.
