The Tech Interactive spans three floors filled with laboratories, design studios, and hands-on exhibits focused on robotics, space exploration, and digital technology.
The museum opened in 1990 as the Technology Center of Silicon Valley and moved to its current Ricardo Legorreta-designed building in downtown San Jose in 1998.
The Tech Interactive presents the annual Tech Challenge competition, encouraging students from grades 4 through 12 to solve real-world engineering problems through innovation.

The IMAX Dome Theater features a four-story wraparound screen spanning 9,000 square feet and uses a specialized laser projection system for dome presentations.
