Stagg Memorial Stadium, College football stadium in Stockton, United States.
Stagg Memorial Stadium was a college sports facility in Stockton featuring concrete grandstands that enclosed the playing field and held 28,000 seats. The building also housed the Pacific Club, a 300-person facility with glass walls that allowed full views of the field.
The University of the Pacific opened this facility in 1950 as a home ground for its Tigers football team. The stadium served that purpose until 1995, after which it stood unused for many years before its demolition in 2014.
The stadium took its name from Amos Alonzo Stagg, a pioneering college football coach whose methods shaped how the sport developed at Pacific and across the nation. The naming honored a figure deeply connected to the university's athletic tradition.
The structure was designed to accommodate large crowds with multiple seating sections offering different viewing experiences. Visitors benefited from open sightlines and the enhanced amenities provided by the on-site club facility.
In 1997 the venue hosted an international soccer match where Brazilian striker Ronaldo scored six goals in an 8-2 victory. This performance became one of the memorable moments associated with the ground before its closure.
