Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park

Prairie Creek Redwoods covers 14,000 acres of coastal forest, featuring ancient redwood groves, open meadows, and pristine waterways along the Pacific coast.

The park was established in 1923 through an initial land donation by Zipporah Russ to the Save the Redwoods League organization.

The Yurok people maintained their traditional lands in the current park area, living near the Klamath River and northern Pacific Ocean.

The park maintains 74 miles of hiking trails and 19 miles of cycling paths, with a visitor center providing detailed information about trail conditions.

Fern Canyon displays 50-foot walls completely covered with five different types of ferns, creating a natural corridor within the park.
